Hair Transplantation

Hair transplantation is a surgical procedure in which hairs are moved from an area of thick growth to bald or thinning areas of the scalp. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and usually takes between 3 and 4 hours to complete. Swelling is common after the procedure and can be a bit uncomfortable but it will subside in a few days. Normally patients can manage the pain and discomfort with over-the-counter medication like paracetamol or ibuprofen.부산탈모모발이식

A doctor performing a hair transplant will begin by cleaning the scalp and then injecting medicine to numb it. They will then choose one of two methods for the transplant: follicular unit strip surgery (FUSS) or follicular unit extraction (FUE). With FUSS, a surgeon removes a 6- to 10-inch strip of hair-bearing scalp from the back of your head and sets it aside. The surgeon then stitches the scalp closed. The surgeon separates the strip into small groups of hairs, called grafts, and then places each graft in its new location on your head, often under magnification or a microscope.

The surgeon may use different techniques to extract individual hairs for the transplant, depending on your preferences and the type of graft you need. Typically, the surgeon will use a needle or blade to poke tiny holes in your scalp. The holes are then filled with hair follicles extracted from the hair-bearing strip on the back of your head. After transferring the hairs to the recipient sites, the surgeon closes the surgical sites and uses an antibiotic or anti-inflammatory ointment to prevent infection.

After the operation, you will likely experience some swelling and redness in the scalp and face. Most people find that their hair is thinner for a few days or weeks before it returns to normal. During this time it is important to follow your doctor’s instructions for care and treatment.

A few years after a hair transplant, you will need to schedule regular appointments with your doctor to check how the grafts are doing and whether or not additional ones are necessary. If the grafts are doing well, they will stay healthy and will continue to grow. If the grafts are not doing well, your doctor will recommend other treatments that can help them grow and thrive.

Hair transplants are a popular way to treat hair loss in men and women. This is because the technique moves healthy hair follicles from an area of thick growth (the back and sides of your scalp) to an area that has little or no growth or where a person has experienced baldness.

Most hair transplants use the donor region on the back of your head. However, the body and beard can also be used for a transplant, though it is more challenging for surgeons to perform and requires more skill. Some research suggests that using body hair may result in a higher ratio of successfully transplanted follicles. It is also less painful and costly than using a shaved scalp as a donor area.청담모바로의원
